This may be a question that you have asked yourself and you have no idea how to go about solving it. Well, I will explain it for you in this post. Computers are known to mankind as a machine and as we progress technologically, we have seen progress in the form of computers.

To define a computer, it is defined as: “A electronic device capable of performing calculations and performing various other computational functions and operations quicker than with human skills, even given a choice of instructions.”

So, we see that it is a machine which can perform tasks, thus we know that it has some intelligence. But, we say that it is intelligent because it can think or have some thoughts or abstractions which we call intelligent thought.

Modern computers can do many things and they are very fast, efficient and difficult to understand. Can you imagine playingstation or racing games with your computer? Racing games require a huge amount of RAM memory as you need to handle different aspects of the game, and you need a high specification PC for that.

So, you see, we have different forms of computers depending on what we do.


It is also called as home computer. It is a very sleek, stylish and high specification machine which you can choose from. You can even watch movies and download music and other stuff online.

You can buy a PC from the local computer store which will cost you around $500. However, nowadays, you can even buy your computer online.


This is the computer where you will hardrive your documents and files, check your account books and other important data, as well as play the few games that you really love. The hardware of your computer will determine the number of programs that you can run at the same time and the size of the memory.

CPU (Central Processing Unit)

The Central Processing Unit or CPU is the brain of the computer. It is the module that processes all of the information within the computer. Highly reflective screens can be used, but they are expensive. Some people may try to use an inexpensive LCD display.


There are two types of monitors used in a computer. CRT or cathode ray tube, the LCD or liquid crystal display, CRT. LCD is much more common and has a few benefits over LCD. LCD monitors require a flat picture, meaning that your picture is evenly lit across the screen no matter what you set your Computer screen to. Calibrating your LCD display is easy, but it is hard to happen since you can’t adjust when you angle or tilch a window. A HP LCD monitor is flat screen and has an optic display, which means that you can adjust which way you look at the screen to focus on a particular document or image.


Ports are important in which you connect your computer to your monitor, They are basically a doorway where you can plug in peripheral devices, like printers, monitors, keyboards, any peripheral you want to connect to your computer. Its configuration is not important, as long as you have enough memory and a plug in that will fit snugly in the unused ports.


AQLGA or QL-FI is a port type that was developed solely for Windows 95. It is used to connect a printer to a computer. With AQLGA PORT, the information from a printer cannot be transmitted to the computer directly, but is sent through the PCI port to the computer.


The PCI port is a standard port that is found on the motherboard of your computer. All current operating systems come with PCI implementations. The only problem with using the PCI port is that it is susceptible to being blocked by dust. It can also be infected by viruses, which speeds up the clock if someone operates the system.


Select the Start button and then from the Control Panel, select the Programs and Features and then from the Description, select the Program and appropriate driver.
